Amish Teach You About Yoga in Lifestyle

182

Anyone knowledgeable in the practices and basic teachings of yoga will be interested in knowing the intricacies of the Amish lifestyle.

The two share much in common in their core concepts and results. In similar ways, they both try to stop us in our tracks so that we will have more time and energy to pay attention to the more important things in life. The Amish do this by actively rejecting modern technologies that might pull them away from their simple lifestyle. ✅

They do not want to be distracted by modern inventions that only take up their precious time to complicate their lives and leave them with less time for family and friends. They set aside time to spend with each other as well as a certain period each day where they stop and meditate on their own lives.

Simplicity at its Best

Isn’t practicing yoga the quest for going back in time to a simpler life? In these modern and busy times, it can be nearly impossible to simplify your life to the extent that you can just kick back and relax.

There is always someplace to go, something to do, or someone who needs you. That’s the fact that leads us through our daily lives, but is there a way to just step off the train and take a little time for ourselves?

We need to find a way to say, “Whoa.” “I need a little R & R for myself”

The Amish nurture the sought-after life of simplicity that gives them the time they desire to be alone as well as quality time with family and acquaintances. They keep their lives simple by not entering the era of modern technology.

Without electricity and the inventions and appliances that go along with power. They can invest themselves more diligently in physical labor such as plowing fields, tossing bales of hay, churning milk, and building barns for one another.

Hard work, yes. But at the end of the day, it leads to a very satisfying life. ?

Hard Work and the Path to Fulfillment

Yoga’s exercises and lifestyle are meant to enhance our lives in ways that result in a peaceful sort of fulfillment. Getting our hands dirty with good and honest work is the perfect catalyst for finding peace within ourselves.

The Amish have gotten the hard labor thing down to a science

Men, women, and children alike shun the automobile for walking and find ways to get the work done without power tools. such as tractors, dishwashers, or even electric lights.

At day’s end, when they set aside time for meditation, they might be dead tired. but what a peaceful feeling to know that you’ve worked hard without harming the environment.

Thankful for All Things

The Amish have learned how to enjoy each other’s company and to be grateful for the smallest of things. They are not out to see who can obtain the highest position in the community.

Their contentment in life comes from being thankful for everything they have without trying to better their positions or compete with the guy next door. Their only goal is to work hard and be thankful to God for everything they have.

Persistent in an Ancient Tradition

While various types of yoga have been in practice for thousands of years, the Amish tradition began only in the 1600s. However, they share many of the same goals in their outlook on life. They are both persistent in seeking a simple path to inner peace and devotion.

The Amish lifestyle is devout towards God and yoga teaches its followers to be devoted to humanity. Through a devoted life…

…both those engaging in yoga as well as the Amish people share a common thread

That cultivates an inner strength making them at peace with themselves and the world around them. ?

Both traditions appreciate a rewarding life resulting from hard work, gratitude, devotion, and persistence.
