First, Make Sure You Are on the Right Page
YogaFX runs two separate programmes, and people genuinely mix them up. This page is the fully online course. If you were looking for the in-person training in Bali, that is the MasterClass, and it is a different product at a different price.
| Online Course (this page) | Hot 26&2 MasterClass | |
|---|---|---|
| Format | Fully online, self-paced, from home | 6 days in person in Seminyak, Bali, with online pre-course study first |
| Price | USD 329 | From USD 1,899 |
| Travel needed | None | Flights and accommodation to Bali |
| Live teaching practice | No | Yes, in a heated room with supervision |
| You finish with | Course completion, plus the Yoga Alliance RYT-200 or YACEP designation upgrade pathway | Dual credential: Yoga Alliance RYT 200 plus a separate Bikram Hot 26&2 certification |
The two connect rather than compete. Everything you pay here is credited in full against the MasterClass if you decide to go to Bali later, and this course doubles as the MasterClass pre-course preparation. So starting online does not lock you out of the in-person route, and it does not cost you anything if you eventually take it. Details of the live programme are on the Hot 26&2 MasterClass page.
What You Get for USD 329
The course splits into two parts. Part 1 is the method itself: the sequence, the dialogue, the demonstrations. Part 2 is the academic layer required for Yoga Alliance credentialling: the lecture series, the workbooks, and the assessments.
| Component | Format | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Complete Standing & Floor Series dialogue | Downloadable workbook | The full script, laid out for memorisation rather than reading |
| Full dialogue, both series | MP3 audio files | Practise on a commute, in the car, walking to the studio |
| Full posture demonstrations | Video, with Miss Ivara | Stop, rewind, pause, or mute and teach the demonstration yourself |
| 15 premium online lectures | Short-format video plus workbook | Anatomical planes, muscular system, skeletal system, 8 limbs of yoga and more |
| Assessments | Multiple-choice quiz per module | Fulfils the credential requirements without written essays |
| 250-page reference manual | Lifetime PDF | The same manual used on the Bali MasterClass |
| Access period | Lifetime | Revisit any module at any point in your teaching career |
Enrolling now also unlocks 10 additional premium lectures beyond the core 15, a USD 490 value, plus the Yoga Alliance RYT-200 or YACEP designation upgrade pathway.
To give you a sense of the level the lectures pitch at, rather than just the titles:
- Anatomical Planes of Movement. The sagittal, frontal, and transverse planes, and why knowing which plane a posture works in changes how you cue it.
- Muscular System. Muscle makes up roughly half of body weight, and the lecture separates voluntary from involuntary function so you can explain what a posture is actually doing.
- Skeletal System. A newborn arrives with around 300 bones; many fuse during growth, leaving 206 in an adult. That fusion is part of why you cue a teenager differently from a 60-year-old.
- The 8 Limbs of Yoga. The philosophical frame the asana sits inside, which is what students ask about once they have been practising a while.
What This Course Deliberately Does Not Include
Most online teacher training sells access to a live cohort. This one does the opposite, on purpose. The people who buy it are usually working full-time, raising a family, or living somewhere without a hot yoga studio, and a fixed Thursday-night Zoom slot is exactly what stops them finishing.
- No scheduled Zoom calls. Nothing to miss, nothing to reschedule around.
- No live chat rooms. Your progress does not depend on a group keeping pace with you.
- No long written essays. Assessment is multiple-choice, tied to each lecture workbook.
- No rigid deadlines. Lifetime access means the course waits for you, not the reverse.
If you specifically want live teaching feedback and a cohort, that is what the in-person MasterClass in Bali is for. The comparison between the two formats is covered in detail in online yoga teacher training versus hybrid.
Your USD 329 Is Credited in Full to the Bali MasterClass
This is the part most people miss, and it is the reason the online course is a low-risk starting point rather than a fork in the road.
If you later decide to join Mr. Ian’s live Bikram Hot 26&2 MasterClass in Bali, your full USD 329 is credited against it. Your MasterClass pre-course preparation requirement is also covered, because the online course is that preparation. You are not paying twice, and you are not choosing between the two formats. You are starting with the one you can start today.
Practically, that means the course costs you nothing if you eventually travel, and it stands alone if you never do.
Who Built It and Who Demonstrates It
The course was curated by Mr. Ian Terry, E-RYT 500 and founder of YogaFX. He trained for five years, from 2014 to 2019, directly with Bikram Choudhury, the founder of the Bikram Hot 26&2 method, has logged more than 12,000 hours of practical teacher training, and has certified over 1,500 graduates from more than 80 countries. In June 2026 he was appointed Master Trainer of the Republic of Indonesia Yogasana Sports Federation. More on his background is on the YogaFX teacher page.
The posture demonstrations are filmed with Miss Ivara Candra Kartika, a 2023 YogaFX graduate who went on to take Gold and Bronze at the World Yogasana Sports Federation Championships in Ahmedabad in June 2026, Silver at the Asian Yogasana Championships in the UAE in August 2025, and Gold at the FORNAS VIII Indonesia championships in July 2025. She was a graduate of this same method three years before she became a world medallist, which is the clearest answer available to anyone wondering whether the method actually develops a practice. She now teaches as a YogaFX instructor at the Seminyak studio in Bali.
In the demonstration modules you keep full control. Stop, rewind, pause, mute the audio, or cover the dialogue and teach Miss Ivara using your own developing script.
Why the Dialogue Is the Whole Job
In the Hot 26&2 method there is no music, no demonstration from the front of the room, and no improvised cueing. You teach a 90-minute class from a scripted verbal dialogue. That constraint is what makes the format teachable at all, and it is also what defeats most new teachers.
Weak dialogue delivery shows up as hesitation, which students read as uncertainty, which raises injury risk because nobody is sure when to come out of a posture. Strong delivery does the opposite: it removes ambiguity, holds the room’s timing, and lets you watch bodies instead of searching for the next line.
The MP3 files exist specifically for this. Dialogue phobia is overcome by repetition in low-stakes settings, not by studying the script harder. Graduates consistently report that the audio files were the single tool that moved them from reciting to teaching.
What the Research Says About Hot 26&2
You will be teaching a practice with a real evidence base, which matters when a prospective student asks you what it actually does.
A randomised trial run through Harvard-affiliated Massachusetts General Hospital (Nyer et al., 2023) found that 59 percent of participants in a heated yoga intervention cut their depression symptoms by half or more after eight weeks, versus 6 percent on the waitlist. A 2025 systematic review covering 43 studies and 942 participants found consistent gains in flexibility, bone density, and general well-being. Earlier work by Tracy and Hart (2013) measured a roughly 20 percent increase in posterior chain strength over an eight-week Bikram programme.
Those findings describe group averages in controlled studies, not guaranteed individual outcomes. Anyone with a medical condition should consult a healthcare professional before starting a heated practice, and you will cover how to have that conversation with students in the lecture series.
Is the Online Course the Right Starting Point for You?
It fits well if you recognise yourself in any of these:
- You practise regularly but cannot take a week off work to travel.
- You live somewhere without a Hot 26&2 studio within reasonable distance.
- You have family commitments that make a six-day absence impractical right now.
- You have six months of practice and want to understand the method properly before committing to a full training.
- You have plateaued and want alignment and modification knowledge rather than more classes.
- You intend to do the Bali MasterClass eventually and want the pre-course work done well in advance.
You do not need to be an advanced practitioner. There is no audition, no flexibility requirement, and no minimum years of practice. The curriculum is built to take a committed beginner to teaching-level understanding, which is a different thing from rewarding people who already look good in Standing Bow.
Check Any of This Yourself Before You Pay
YogaFX holds 150 Google reviews, 50 Yoga Alliance reviews and 357 student video testimonials on YouTube. Rather than asking you to take those numbers on trust, here are the three places it comes from, so you can read the reviews and count them yourself:
- Yoga Alliance school profile and reviews. This also confirms the Registered Yoga School status directly on Yoga Alliance’s own system, not ours. View the Yoga Alliance profile.
- Google reviews from students across the world. Read the Google profile.
- 357 filmed graduate interviews on YouTube. Unedited video reviews recorded in person at the end of each intake, which is harder to fake than written testimonials. Watch the graduate reviews.
Checking a provider’s Yoga Alliance registration independently is worth doing whoever you train with. Marketing phrases like “internationally recognised” are not verifiable, and a school’s registration status is.
Pricing and Payment
| Option | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard price | USD 399 | Full course, lifetime access |
| Current price | USD 329 | 20% off the standard price |
| Payment plan | 4 x USD 82 | Interest-free, monthly |
| Credit toward Bali MasterClass | Full USD 329 | Applied if you later enrol in the live intensive |
On the instalment plan that works out at roughly USD 2.70 a day across the four months, which is less than most people spend on a coffee.
For comparison, the 6-day in-person MasterClass in Seminyak runs from USD 1,899. Full details of what the live programme covers are on the course inclusions page. Either way, you do not need to commit five figures plus international flights and weeks of accommodation to become a qualified hot yoga teacher, which is what a long residential programme abroad can end up costing once everything is counted.
“There can be no greater investment than the one that you make in your health, because without it, nothing else matters.”
Mr. Ian Terry, E-RYT 500, founder of YogaFX

FAQ
How much does the Bikram hot yoga teacher training online course cost?
The course is currently USD 329, reduced from a standard price of USD 399. You can pay in full or split it into four interest-free monthly payments of USD 82. The price includes lifetime access, all workbooks, the dialogue MP3 files, and the 250-page reference manual.
Do I have to travel to Bali to complete the online course?
No. The online course is completed entirely from home at your own pace, with no scheduled calls and no deadlines. Travel to Bali is only required if you choose to add the live 6-day MasterClass, and if you do, your full online course fee is credited toward it.
Can a beginner join the online teacher training?
Yes. There is no audition, no posture requirement, and no minimum years of practice. The curriculum starts from foundations and builds to teaching-level understanding. Many graduates began with only a few months of practice, including Miss Ivara, who medalled at world level three years after training.
Is the online course credited toward the in-person MasterClass?
Yes, in full. The USD 329 you pay for the online course is credited against the live Bikram Hot 26&2 MasterClass in Seminyak if you enrol later. It also satisfies the MasterClass pre-course preparation requirement, so the online study is never duplicated work.
How long do I have access to the course materials?
Access is for life. Every lecture, workbook, demonstration video, MP3 file, and the 250-page manual remain available with no renewal fee and no expiry. Graduates routinely return to the dialogue modules and posture breakdowns years into their teaching careers.
What makes this different from other online yoga teacher training?
Most online programmes teach general Vinyasa or Hatha. This one teaches the original Hot 26&2 method specifically: the fixed 26-posture sequence, the two breathing exercises, and the scripted dialogue, demonstrated by a world medallist and curated by an E-RYT 500 with 12,000 teaching hours in that exact method.
