If teenagers are heavily into sports and gyms, then they’ve already been exposed to some form of Yoga

even if it’s some kind of boot camp program or a hybrid fitness approach. However, the extent of most teenagers’ exposure to physical fitness is their P.E. class during school. So the idea of trying Yoga is often and probably going to be met with giggles and jokes.

His or her focus will be on the routine first.

Social interaction will be understood as a secondary issue that can wait until after the class or routine is over.

Start With Achievable Routines

SELF CONFIDENCE IS A BIG ISSUE for teens. Some are quite comfortable with physical prowess but many others are not. Yoga requires entirely different routines, muscle groups, and skills than football or volleyball, or basketball.

When teenagers embrace this background understanding, they are often able to perform routines with far more confidence, ease, and capability. ✅

In a sense, understanding “why” in Yoga helps open up new physical capacity doors because their brain gets behind the body to make new accomplishments happen.

Teens are often living in a world of MENTAL AND PHYSICAL CHAOS as their bodies undergo some of the fastest changes they will experience in a lifetime. As a result, everything can seem out of whack and extreme, which is often expressed in emotional outbursts, short attention-spans, and bad decision-making.?‍♂️

By helping teens focus on balance and relaxation…

…some of that internal chaos can be offset, which can frequently help teens regain their composure. Yoga is a natural conduit for balance-focusing, and it can be tremendously helpful during teen years when applied correctly.?

TEENS AREN’T STONE WALLS; they can and will get into Yoga with the right incentives and approach. They won’t respond well to orders, demands, heavy-handed criticism, or nitpicking.

When they overcome these elements, they will enjoy Yoga and develop within the exercise.
