Two graduates of YogaFX International Yoga Teacher Training Academy represented Indonesia at the inaugural World Yogasana Sport Championship, held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, from 4 to 8 June 2026, the first sanctioned global championship in the sport’s history. Mr. Arkan Fauzan Riyanto and Ms. Ivara Candra Kartika returned with a combined seven medals, an outcome confirmed by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations Jakarta (ICCR Jakarta) and independently corroborated by Indonesian local government and press coverage.
For a teacher training academy built on the principle that disciplined practice and disciplined teaching are the same skill, this result is the clearest demonstration yet of what our graduates carry with them once they leave Bali.
Ms. Ivara Candra Kartika: A 2023 Graduate’s World Championship Season

Ms. Ivara Candra Kartika, who completed her Bikram Hot 26&2 RYT 200-hour certification with YogaFX in 2023, closed out an extraordinary season with Gold and Bronze medals in Ahmedabad. Writing on her verified Instagram account, she described herself as a “World Yogasana Champion representing Indonesia, in Ahmedabad, India,” adding that she was “Grateful to bring home a Gold and Bronze Medal for Indonesia.”
The Ahmedabad result was the third podium finish of her season: a MasterClass Gold at FORNAS VIII in Indonesia in July 2025, Silver at the Asian Yogasana Championships in the UAE in August 2025, and now Gold and Bronze at the first World Championship in June 2026. Ms. Kartika now teaches regularly at YogaFX’s Seminyak, Bali studio.
Mr. Arkan Fauzan Riyanto: A 2022 Graduate’s Five-Medal Campaign

Mr. Arkan Fauzan Riyanto, a 2022 graduate of our programme, returned from Ahmedabad with two Silver and three Bronze medals. The result was independently reported by the official website of the Tangerang City Government, which described Mr. Riyanto, a yoga practitioner from Tangerang, as having “successfully brought home five medals at the World Yogasana Championship.” Local Banten outlets Banten Now and RMBanten independently confirmed the same result.
Ahmedabad followed a strong run at FORNAS, Indonesia’s National Sports Week, where the Tangerang City Youth and Sports Office (DISPORA) reported Mr. Riyanto secured a “three-peat” title across the 2022, 2023, and 2025 editions in the asana single category for the under-40 age group.
A National Coaching Effort, Built From Bali

Both athletes trained under the personal guidance of Mr. Ian Terry, YogaFX’s founder, who serves as Master Trainer of the Republic of Indonesia Yogasana Sports Federation and as National Coach to the Indonesian Yogasana team. Mr. Terry has also engaged directly with international Yogasana sport leadership, including a meeting with the UAE Minister of Sports during the Asian Yoga Federation Championship in Dubai, and ongoing dialogue with the Chairman and board of the World Yogasana Sports Federation in Ahmedabad regarding the sport’s stated ambition to reach Olympic test event status by 2032 and full Olympic status by 2036.
A third graduate, Mr. Slamet Ariyanto (2024), now serves as Chairman of the Yoga Practitioner Association of Indonesia (PPYNI) and as Indonesian Yogasana Team Manager, responsible for the national team’s participation in events including Ahmedabad. Across National, Asian, and World Yogasana competition, YogaFX graduates representing Indonesia have now accumulated 12 medals: 5 Gold, 3 Silver, and 4 Bronze.
From the Training Room to the World Stage
Neither Ms. Kartika nor Mr. Riyanto arrived at YogaFX as competitive athletes. Both completed our standard Bikram Hot 26&2 RYT 200-hour certification, the same programme covered on our course inclusions page, before going on to compete and coach at a national and now world level. Their results are a reflection of the same posture clinic discipline, dialogue precision, and practice-teaching rigour every YogaFX graduate trains in, applied at competitive intensity.
For more on upcoming training intensives, our course dates page lists current cohorts, and our events page tracks YogaFX’s ongoing involvement in the Yogasana sport calendar.
