Short answer: the best free online yoga videos are the ones that show you a real class, taught by a real teacher, from start to finish. Below you’ll find exactly that: unedited footage from YogaFX in Bali, a free preview of our pre-course lectures, and a plain checklist for judging any free yoga video you find on YouTube. No sign-up, no email gate.

Why most “free yoga video” lists let you down

Search for free yoga videos and you’ll get the same round-up articles: ten YouTube channels, a sentence about each, and a link. They’re fine for a 20-minute stretch on a Tuesday. They tell you nothing about what a full class feels like, what a teacher actually says, or whether the style suits the reason you started looking.

At YogaFX we teach one thing: the original Hot 26&2 sequence, 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises, 90 minutes, in a room that sits naturally at around 40°C in Bali. So instead of recommending other people’s channels, we put our own class footage online. Ian Terry, who founded YogaFX in 2017 and has logged more than 12,000 hours in the teaching room, wanted anyone considering the training to be able to watch him teach before spending a cent.

1. Watch Ian Terry teach a full class

This is the behind-the-scenes release of Ian teaching at a YogaFX event. Listen for three things. First, the dialogue: every posture is delivered with the same scripted instructions, so the class runs on words, not demonstrations. Second, the pacing: there is no music and no filler, just breath, posture, rest. Third, the corrections: notice how often the instruction is about where your weight sits, not how deep you go. That’s the whole method in one video. There’s more context on the sneak peek of Ian teaching page.

2. Watch trainees teach for the first time

If you’re weighing up teacher training, this one matters more than any polished promo. It’s our students on student teaching day, standing at the front of the room and leading real postures for the first time. Their voices shake a little. They forget a line and recover. That’s what week one of teaching looks like for everyone, and it’s the part most training providers never show you.

3. Hear from students, unscripted

Miss Amanda’s review is one of more than 200 video testimonials our graduates have recorded, usually on the last day, usually still sweating. The full playlist sits on the YogaFX Bali five-star reviews page. Watch a few in a row and you’ll notice they all mention the same two things: the dialogue training and the size of the group, which we cap at 19.

4. A free preview of the pre-course lectures

Every YogaFX trainee studies online before flying to Bali. That pre-course material is normally part of the enrolment, but we’ve opened a complimentary preview of the premium lecture course so you can see how the theory is taught: anatomy of the 26 postures, why the room is heated, and how the dialogue is built. There’s also a shorter complimentary preview if you only have ten minutes. Both are free and neither asks for a card.

How to judge any free yoga video in 60 seconds

Use this on our videos too. A free video is worth your time when it passes four checks:

  • The teacher tells you where to put your weight. “Lift your chest” is a cue. “Weight in your heels, lock the knee, then lift” is teaching. Look for the second kind.
  • You can hear the instruction without watching the screen. Close your eyes for 30 seconds. If you’re lost, the video relies on demonstration, which doesn’t transfer to a real class.
  • Beginners get a version of every posture. Not a different posture, a shallower version of the same one. That’s how a sequence is meant to scale.
  • Nobody promises a result in a fixed number of days. Research on regular hot yoga practice (Willmott and colleagues, 2025, PMC12488547) points to gains in flexibility and strength over weeks of consistent practice, not a fortnight. Any video that promises faster is selling something.

What free videos can’t give you

Three things, honestly. Heat: a bedroom at 22°C changes the posture completely, which is why the Bali room matters. Correction: nobody is watching your knee. And feedback on your own teaching, which is the entire point of a teacher training and the reason our teaching practice day exists. If you’re practising at home to decide whether hot yoga is for you, free videos are enough. If you’re deciding whether to teach it, at some point you have to stand in the room.

When you’re ready for more than videos

The YogaFX hot yoga teacher training is a 6-day hybrid intensive in Bali with dual certification: RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance plus the Bikram Hot 26&2 certificate. Cohorts are capped at 19 so Ian can correct every student personally. If you’ve watched the videos above and have a question about dates, pricing or whether your current practice is enough to start, message Ian directly on WhatsApp through the course page. He answers himself, usually the same day, and there’s no obligation to enrol. If you’d rather keep browsing first, the guide to online yoga courses compares what’s available.
